Under the sea small world play

You will need:

  • A large container
  • Sand
  • Bi carb soda
  • Sea creatures
  • Shells
  • Rocks
  • Plastic Plants

  •  A jug of water and vinegar (equal quantities e.g. 1 cup of water and 1 cup of vinegar) add a dash of blue food colouring to make it blue.

Together with your child make the scene first place a layer of sand on the bottom of the tray you will be using. At one end add a layer of bi carb soda then sprinkle as to how far you would like.

We used an eye dropper so we could watch and talk about what was happening.

-encouraging fine motor

-Play scene will last longer

Drop the liquid onto your play tray and watch the waves bubble and fizz.

*I added little people and used cocktail umbrellas, small rectangle pieces of fabric to use as beach towels.

Did your little people get wet? Could you hear the fizz when the bicarb and vinegar mixed?
